Washington

Washington, a constituent state of the United States of America, was admitted to the union as the 42nd state on November 11, 1889. Located in the Pacific Northwest, it is known for its diverse geography, ranging from the Pacific coastline to the mountainous regions of the Cascades and the fertile valleys in between. The origin of Washington's name is straightforward, named in honor of George Washington, the first President of the United States. The state’s capital is Olympia, although its largest city is Seattle, a major cultural and economic hub. The influence of early settlers, particularly those of British and Native American descent, is evident in Washington's rich cultural heritage, architecture, and place names.
